We have 10 Stiga/Butterfly tables and play in the gym at River Woods Elementary School on Monday nights. We are part of the Naperville Park District and share equipment and space with the school. We start at 6:30 pm and stop playing about 8:30 pm. We meet between September and May, except holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Check the calendar for exact dates. Email contacts are under the “Finding Us” tab.
On a typical night, we will have 20+ players and rotate playing each other. If all the tables are busy and you want to play next, then you just place your paddle on the floor next to the table that you want to play on. When the two players are finished with their game, then you are next to play the winner. If two paddles are placed on the floor, then both players will leave the table after they complete their match.
We normally play singles. A game is to 11 points, a match is best out of 5 games. The serve is switched after every 2 serves. A game must be won by 2 points. If tied at 11, the serve is switched every serve. You can serve to any location on the table. If the serve hits the net and goes over, the serve is replayed.
We charge a fee to play. NTTC is a non-profit club and works through the Naperville Park District. Most of the money is used to pay for new equipment. The tables we use typically cost between $1,000 and $1,200 each, with nets about $50 and balls are about $75 for 100 balls.
